about Wire Rope Sleeves and Ferrules
Wire rope sleeves and stops are wire rope accessories used to terminate the ends of wire rope and cable. A wire rope stop may be placed anywhere on the steel cable but is primarily used at the ends to keep the wire rope from fraying. Most sleeves and stops utilize a hydraulic press for swaging but some may be “hand swaged” by using a special swage tool.
Before using sleeves with other type lay, construction or grade of wire rope, it is recommended that the termination be proofloaded to prove the adequacy of the assembly.
Features
The oval sleeves are used on to make eyes on the end of a wire rope sling or steel cable.
Stainless steel sleeves, which meet military spec are only manufactured in oval shapes.

Applications
Aluminium Oval Sleeves are extruded from a high quality aluminium alloy, and heat treated for excellent cold forming or swaging qualities. Return eye splice using ALUMINIUM SLEEVES will attain 95% of improved plow wire rope catalog strength when properly swaged.
CAUTION: Return eye slings using oval aluminium sleeves must be properly swaged to attain strength.
